This week we’ve got Dr James explaining what to expect from IVF, in terms of your first visit to the clinic and what you should bring with you if you have already had tests elsewhere.
He talks about how clinics will have a questionnaire, asking for information such as the previous history, how long you’ve been trying, as much info as possible about your menstrual and any other info, surgical, gynaecological or medical info that is important to identify any other risks complications that need to be made aware of. If you’ve had treatment elsewhere – bring all the info.
We also talked about your expectations around seeing the same people and James explains how you will have a ‘point person’ yet due to the nature of the treatment with your embryos being ready when they are ready, it might mean that your collection or transfer might not be at a time your Dr is available. What was your experience like?
James explains the protocols and how they are tailored to you and over the next few weeks we’re talking about the drugs teach and also what to expect at egg collection and embryo transfer. You will also hear the advice of three lovely listeners, so huge thanks to Cathy, Annabelle and Katrina for sharing your thoughts.
We will be doing an episode on the ‘Two Week Wait’ and would love to hear more of your thoughts as it’s so exciting to be able to capture them with ease.
