Hope you’ve had a fun bank holiday weekend?
As you listen to this week’s episode you will hear how giddy Kate and I sounded as we were together! Yep, we met up for the first time in over a year and had a wonderful day together. We had some photos taken with a lovely chap called Dan, who we dragged through a buttercup field, I can’t wait to share the pictures properly.
Kate is so brilliant when it comes to her knowledge about fertility issues and I do hope you join us for our Brew at 2 each Tuesday, as it’s a perfect opportunity to ask her questions. I feel very lucky to have her on my podcast!
So, on to this week’s episode. We’re joined by Alice Rose who you may know on Instagram as @thisisalicerose. Alice is a former fertility patient, mum of two, campaigner and a mindset mentor and the pair of us were both part of Ferring’s #FertilityAwks campaign last year.
Alice’s ‘Think not What to Say’ campaign has been a trailblazer within the community, helping to bridge the disconnect between patients and their doctors and help friends and family to communicate better with their loved ones navigating a fertility journey.
On her own fertility journey Alice, who has PCOS, had numerous rounds of treatment, including ovulation induction, which Kate explains what happens during ovulation induction. Often it is the first treatment you may be offered, particularly if you’re not ovulating. You may be offered Clomid or Letrozole. If you aren’t offered Letrozole, Kate recommends asking why and please do listen to our PCOS episode.
One thing we really want to highlight with Ovulation induction is to make sure you are not continuing doing the same thing if you’re not getting results, be your self-advocate and if you’re not responding to treatment go back to your doctor and discuss this.
The other thing I wanted to make sure you had seen is the Trends Report from the HFEA which has just been published, check it out here.
PLUS – we’re speaking to Dr James Nicoppoulus on Wednesday for another ask the expert session, so if you have any questions hit me up.
