Hey, It’s been a while, how have you been?
Well, Kate and I have been busy recording our new series and I’ve also been busy getting ready to launch the latest development for Fertility Matters at Work which I’ll tell you about in a moment.
Firstly, please do have a listen to this week’s episode the first of our new series talking about Fertility Issues in the Workplace and it’s a conversation with Channel 4’s 4 Women Network who launched a Pregnancy Loss policy earlier this year, in April.
We spoke about how it came to be and how it was received and as you will hear it has been hugely impactful with many women saying how they wished it had been there sooner yet it made them so proud to work for a company that was taking this matter seriously.
We are too with the pod and with the focus of this series and will be sharing more conversations with you about companies making changes and industries needing to address how they can better support you. Next Monday the focus is on teachers.
I’d love to hear your stories which you can still leave me at The Fertility Podcast about your experience, be it good or bad, it only needs to be a couple of minutes long. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page.
You’ll probably have seen that this week is Fertility Awareness Week. Kate and I are sharing lots on our socials to support you, however, we also know this week may be a bit much so feel free to check out and have a digital detox if you prefer. It’s always amazing to be part of the momentum on this topic, but I know it can be tricky, so do what feels right.
Our Brew at 2 will be talking about the workplace and we’ll be speaking with Becky Kearns and Claire Ingle who are my co-founders as this week we’re finally launching our exciting training and policy programme which is to help you and your place of work understand more about the many challenges we face when TTC.
We’ve brought together some of our colleagues who are also working to support workplaces better – and there are Fertility Circle, an app that provides the very best expert support, information and community for anyone experiencing fertility issues; Fertility Health, offering at-home fertility and menopause testing and treatment for employees and leading UK law firm Shoosmiths assisting on the legal and advisory aspects of the project by employment law specialists.
We’re just adding the final touches to our new website so for now, follow us on LinkedIn or Instagram.
It’s a really exciting time for this conversation in the workplace, if you look at how people are talking about Mental Health and Menopause we feel that Fertility conversations have a rightful place at the workplace table.
Would love to hear your thoughts, you can do so here.
