Where to start.
It changes everything. Your relationship, your career, your friendships, your ability to feel joy.
The impact of infertility on your mental health is hugely significant and in the conversation below I talk about how important it is to get support whilst you are trying to conceive from someone who understands what you are going through. Understand that your feelings of anger, guilt, shame, blame are all valid is so important as you can easily go down the route of blaming yourself for decisions you may have made in your life.
Remind yourself that Infertility is a disease as classed by the World Health Organisation and it is not your fault, despite this in a recent survey conducted by Fertility Matters at Work we found over 68% of our sample were struggling with depression and anxiety and I have numerous conversations with people about how they are feeling stressed and anxious all of the time.
Being triggered by social media, by thoughtless comments from friends and family all contribute to the overwhelm. It is important to be kind to yourself whilst you are trying to conceive and to find people you can talk to. We have a closed facebook group which is so supportive and I’d invite you to come and join us here
If you’d like to talk more about how to get support along the way, have a watch of this video I did with Meet Parla, talking about how I can work with you to help you feel more in control of your feelings through all of this.
