The Queer Family is not a new phenomenon. The LGBT community has been making babies and parenting for a long time. But in recent years there has been an exponential growth in surrogacy, assisted conception, co-parenting and adoption among same sex singles and couples. What does this mean for family-making in the future and what are the challenges that still need to be over-come?
Joining the discussion will be the Tony and Olivier award-winning theatre producer Chris Harper, cabaret performer Jamie Anderson, Director of Pride Angel Erika Tranfield and Professor Susan Bewley, former Co-chair of the Lesbian and Gay Doctors and Dentists Association and always outspoken about the less acknowledged harms of reproductive science. Chaired by James MacKenzie Blackman – Chief Executive of Eden Court, Scotland’s largest arts centre, and gay dad of two.
